Privacy Policy
Last revised on: October 27, 2026
This policy explains what information TeachReel LLC (“TeachReel”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use teachreel.com (the “Site”), why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language. If anything is unclear, email info@teachreel.com.
TeachReel is a free resource for new teachers. We collect as little as we need to run it, we don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
1. What we collect
1.1 Your account
When you create an account, we store your email address and the name you choose to show. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us; we don't receive your Google password. We also keep basic sign-in records (when you signed in and the session that keeps you signed in).
1.2 Early-access and newsletter sign-ups
If you join the early-access list or sign up for updates, we store your name, email address, your role (for example, new teacher or school leader), how you heard about us, and whether you asked to hear about the launch.
1.3 Stories you share
If you share a story, we store what you submit: your name and email, your role and grade level, the topics you chose, your written answers, and any voice or video recording, along with how you want to be credited and whether you agreed to us publishing it.
1.4 Community posts and comments
If you post in the community or comment on an episode, we store the text, any voice or video you add, the episode it relates to, and the name you show.
1.5 What you watch
When you're signed in, we remember which episodes you've watched, where you stopped, and which ones you saved, so you can pick up where you left off.
1.6 Quizzes and tools
When you use one of our quick tools or quizzes, we store your answers and the result. These responses aren't linked to your account.
1.7 Pilot inquiries from schools and districts
If you ask about a pilot for your school or district, we store your name, email address, organization, role and message.
1.8 Email delivery records
When we send you an email (for example, a sign-in code), we keep a record of the address, the type of email and whether it was delivered. If you unsubscribe or an address bounces, we keep that address on a do-not-send list so we don't email it again.
1.9 Technical information and analytics
Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the Site running and secure.
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used, for example which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. These tools use cookies and similar technologies. Our fonts are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google. Your browser also stores a few items on your device to keep you signed in and to remember your place in an episode.
2. How we use it
We use your information to run the Site and your account; to show you episodes and remember your progress; to review and, with your permission, publish stories; to run and moderate the community; to send you the emails you ask for (such as sign-in codes and, if you opted in, launch news); to answer pilot inquiries; to understand and improve how the Site is used; and to keep the Site safe and prevent abuse.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
3. Teachers' stories and students
Teachers' stories often involve students. Please don't include students' names, faces or other details that could identify them. We review every story and community post before it's published and remove identifying details about students. Teachers are credited the way they choose (for example, first name only, initials, or anonymously), and nothing you share is published without your consent.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site, under their own privacy and security commitments, and only as needed to provide their service:
Lovable (website hosting, our database and the service that sends our emails); and Google (Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, Google Fonts, and Google Sheets, which we use to manage our early-access list).
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account and what you've saved for as long as your account is open. We keep stories and community posts until you ask us to remove them, or until we remove them. We keep early-access sign-ups until you ask us to remove you. We keep email delivery records only as long as we need them to operate and troubleshoot email, and addresses on the do-not-send list for as long as needed to honor your request.
6. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to delete your account, by emailing info@teachreel.com from the address on your account. We'll respond within 30 days.
You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time with the link in the email. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.
Depending on where you live (for example, in California), you may have additional rights under local law. We honor those rights, and we won't treat you differently for using them.
7. Children
TeachReel is made for adult educators. It isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email info@teachreel.com and we'll delete it.
8. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls that limit each person to their own data, restricted administrator access, and regular review of our security. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll also tell you by email or with a notice on the Site before it takes effect.
